Warning: This entry will be of no interest to anyone without children (and little interest to those with them). I apologize, in advance, for the nature of the subject - but this is, after all, my life...
We are diaper free! It is a momentous event, athough strangely bittersweet. Our last 7 1/2 years have been largely filled with the changing of diapers...from the tinest cute little things to those of montrous proportions. We have breached a new world.
Hudson was a cinch to potty train. We told him to use the potty and he did. Jake took a few extra days - I had to convince him that it was a good idea and he eagerly caught on. Cole has had no interest in it at all, despite my efforts. Although he is months older than both of his brothers when they made the change and he joyfully mimics all other things that his brothers do, he has repeatedly refused to wear underwear or use the toilet - even accidently. A few weeks ago he even changed his own diaper (a clear sign that he need not be wearing diapers, don't you think).
So imagine my surprise when he woke up a little over a week ago and told me he didn't have a diaper on (he apparently had taken it off at bedtime and I had not noticed when I went in to cover him up after he fell asleep) and he needed to go potty. Even more astonishing was the fact that he walked into the bathroom and went! Now it has been 10 days and he has only had 3 accidents - all within the first 3 days! And while I still am putting him in a pull-up at night for my sake, diapers are now a thing of our past.
Further proof that my baby is growing up. So, alas, we offer a somber farewell to this chapter of our life...and a giddy good-riddens!!!

YEAH! Way to go Cole!
Awesome. I have been telling Barrett everytime he goes or doesn't go, that Cole goes potty like a big boy and he wears underwear. Positive peer pressure!
