Good Morning!

Thought I'd tell you about my first few minutes awake this morning...

I awoke, pleasantly, to the sound of cartoons. Scooby Doo, to be exact. I glanced at the clock and smiled to see the numbers started in 9...the boys had satisfied themselves with Saturday morning cartoons and let me sleep in a bit. I was pleased, thrilled, and even overjoyed to have slept so late - the purest of treats!

As I was making the bed, Cole came in and gave me a big "Good Morning" grin...another treat. And then, keeping with my morning routine, I headed to the bathroom. Cole, holding himself, came along with me. Seeing that he, too, needed to relieve himself, I encouraged him to use the potty first. He refused, so I went ahead.

As I am doing my business, he is taking his pull-up off and "getting ready" for his turn. I notice that he is now on his tippy toes, almost dancing, and continuing to hold himself. I tell him I wish he had gone first, and seeing his determination to hold it in, I am trying desperately to hurry.

He is standing about a foot in front of me, hopping on the very tips of his toes from one foot to the other, naked from the waist down, and looking straight at me. I am still trying to hurry, but as a nurse my bladder is, well, of superhuman proportions.

And then it happens. He has given up all previous strategies and begins peeing uncontrollably...straight at me, on me, over me, under me...everywhere. He is shocked and pleased all at the same time. I am still sitting there, covered in it, also shocked (but not so pleased) when Jake pops his head in and says "Good Morning, Mommy!"

I cannot stop laughing. You are going to have SUCH fantastic stories to tell these boy's wives some day.
