A couple of days ago, I lost it. All my "good parenting" skills escaped me. All my points earned, now lost. Heath was working a 48 hour shift and I was tired...too tired. It was late in the day, the kids were arguing, the weather was bad, and I was impatiently tired - not a great combination. All my learned powers of reasonable negotiation went out the window and I screamed (notice I didn't say yelled), startling my kids. Immediately, I was filled with regret.
So that night before our family prayer time, I sat down with the boys to apologize for my anger...As I told them that I was sorry for losing my temper, Cole chimed in.
"No, mommy, you didn't lose your temper, because I could hear it," he said. He went on to add to his prayer, "thank you for mommy's temper she lost..."
God always has a way of reminding me to smile...
